Cofounded Protera, which designs food proteins with machine learning, through IndieBio and a Series A led by Sofinnova Partners.
Led computational biology at Protera. Coinventor on four patent families in AI protein design.
Cofounded Lab4U, later acquired, and led R2B Catalyst, the R&D center built with UC Davis.
Cofounded Protera and ran its operations and finance as COO through its Series A.
Companies are complex systems. They behave far more like living organisms than like the org charts and spreadsheets used to describe them. Work flows through people and tools, roles adapt, bottlenecks move, and what a company is able to do emerges from how it is wired. We are obsessed with that question: how function emerges from structure.
It is the question we spent more than a decade on as biologists, designing proteins with machine learning, where the shape of a molecule decides what it does. Chask brings the same discipline to companies. Our AI maps how an organization really works, every person, tool and handoff, keeps that map alive as the company changes, and shows where automation will matter most. Map first, then automate.
We are based in Santiago, Chile. We are biochemists, biotechnology engineers and software engineers: inventors on nine patent families, authors of research on deep learning, and founders of six companies between us.
Chask is backed by CORFO and Start-Up Chile, and is part of NVIDIA Inception.

Before Chask, we built companies on hard science. Our previous companies went through IndieBio in San Francisco and were backed by Sofinnova Partners and Grupo Bimbo; one of them, Lab4U, was acquired.
